Christmas Adverts

Started by: PeterP (11342)

It is the time of year when the Tv is saturated with Christmas adverts and I wonder whether WW members are inclined to shop at a specific shop because a "A-lister" is in the advert.

They will soon be banned, because Christmas is not woke

This one was filmed at Tesco Wigan in 2014 LINK

The lady who complained about the lack of a hat, and presses the button, she actually works for ITV has a freelance reporter.

Bought in my Christmas booze this week from Morrisons

Saved over £90 on what it would have cost me at Tesco.

(Although I do have a Clubcard, it does not work, and as reported, Tesco have whoppingly boosted the non discount price, to make their card offers seem a bargain, so not everyone would have saved £90 on similar shop.)

Anyone making a saving of £90 or more on Christmas booze must be having a lot of drinking and parties.

No moaning about hardship or poverty there!

Perhaps you should have said that in the original posting so that people did not get any impression it was all for yourself!

PeterP I recon that all adverts should be tested to prove what they claim, if the product does,s notcome up to what they claim then it should be taken off the shelf and a big fine ,

On about having A-listers advertising Christmas, back in the day I worked for a store chain which had Noel Edmunds advertising the store's Christmas offerings, there was a Christnas TV advert and in the window of the shop there was a large poster with a grinning Noel Edmunds holding a large bundle of Christmas presents in his arms, and for the few weeks that poster was up, after every weekend night, yours truly had to clean gravy and curry and other stuff off the window, and remove the chips from the pavement, there was a chippy three doors down from the shop, and did we know about it.

But as we said at the time, if you are drunk and you come across a Noel Edmunds grinning at you through a window, are you going to be inclined to chuck a chippy supper at him

I don't watch adverts on TV, nor do I buy newspapers and magazines, so I'm not influenced one way or the other. I don't care who sells what or who promotes it, 'cos I'm past caring.
